Soon after the plane takes off, you’ll have views of the mighty Himalaya peaks. The first that comes into view is Gosaithan, or Shisha Pangma, at 8,203 meters. To its right the Dorje Lakpa (6,966 meters) appears, and farther to the right, Phurbi Ghyanchu (6,658 meters). As the flight approaches the mountain range, you’ll marvel at the sight of majestic snow-capped peaks. You’ll see Choba-Bhamare (5,933 meters), followed by Gauri-Shanker (7,134 meters), Melungtse (7,181 meters), Chugimago (6,297 meters), Numbur (6,956 meters), Karyolung (6,511 meters), and Cho- Oyu, at 8,201 meters, the 8th-highest mountain in the world. There are still more to come, including Gyanchugkang (7,952 meters), Pumori (7,855 meters), Nuptse (7,855 meters), and then finally Mount Everest, at 8,848 meters the world’s highest mountain.
